Atty. Romeo M. Mendoza JR.
He completed his Pre-Law degree (Bachelor of Science in Business Management) at the Ateneo de Manila University in 1985. After which, he took up his Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of the Philippines and graduated in 1989. A year after, he became a member of the Philippine Bar.
He has held various positions: He joined the law firm of Romulo, Mabanta, Buenaventura, Sayoc & De Los Angeles as a legal apprentice in 1987 until he rose from the ranks and became a Partner in 2005, specializing in litigation, telecommunication and corporate law.
He is a member and accredited Arbitrator of the Philippine Dispute Resolution Center, Inc. and was a former member of the Telecommunications and Broadcast Attorneys of the Philippines, Inc.
He is currently the General Counsel of the Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC). As General Counsel, he is tasked with giving legal representation, support, counsel and advice to PDIC for the effective implementation and fulfillment of PDIC’s mandate as deposit insurer, statutory receiver and liquidator of closed banks, and co-regulator of banks. He also exercises control and supervision over the Legal Affairs Sector of PDIC.
