Atty. Ma. Teresa D. Gaerlan (Asst. Treasurer)
Atty. Tet obtained her Bachelor of Science Major in Psychology (Batch 1984) and Bachelor of Laws (Batch 1988) from the University of Santo Tomas where she met her better half, Atty. Rene A. Gaerlan. They are blessed with three loving and caring children.
Her government service started at the Civil Service Commission (Main Office) where she had the opportunity to work in its different departments, namely, the Merit Systems Protection Board, the Office for Career Systems and Standards (Merit Promotion Plan and Performance Evaluation System Division), the Office for Personnel Relations (Union Registration and Accreditation Division) and the Office for Legal Affairs until she transferred in February 1997 to the Social Security System assigned at the Social Security Commission Legal Department.
At the CSC, she had the opportunity to be one of its resource speakers on policies involving personnel movement including the system of ranking positions and on Public Sector Unionism to other government agencies. She was a member of the Task Force on Attrition, Task Force on Reorganization Appeals Board, and a member of the Technical Committee (Support Staff) that drafted the Local Government Code.
On the other hand, as one of the legal officers of the Social Security Commission (SSC), she acts as Hearing Officer on disputes involving violations of the SS Law, issues on membership and determination of the rightful beneficiaries of a member and drafts resolutions and orders on cases filed before the SSC.
